Good lookin' twin. Tasty.
It may be an optical illusion, but the 2 wing (what-u-may-call-it) "distancers" or "spreaders" (?) look like they have a rather accentuated angle . I've been noticing that on previous pictures as well. Just wondering about the scale aspect of that. Otherwise looks spot on

Vasek, they are not cambered very much. Here is a straight on view. Viewing the full scale the struts mount at the same point of each wing, the third rib, so there has to be a little camber giving the bottom wing is shorter.. I can't find a direct head on pic to see for sure. In the second pic, one of the full scale, enlarge it and you can see the struts mount points.

Wow, what a monster! That engine looks huge!

Now, just what is it about sanding that no one likes? Sheesh!

If someone knows for sure on the struts, now is the time to speak up. Maybe even a photo.

Robert, all the pictures I have point to the fact that the struts are not vertical but just slightly angled. From upside down picture it looks like they are attached closer to the wingtip on the bottom wing.

Yes the upside down one does look closer to the wing tips. But the first one is like all mine and every other S1-S/T I have seen. Now on this kit they are a tad bit more inboard than the picks of the full scale. But without having the actual measurements I don't know if its the struts further in or the ribs not quite scale.

Well crap, I'm starting to dislike you Vasek. LOL! Just kidding, real good eye. I just went and counted the ribs in that photo and they are the same as my kit. So it would appear I have some struts to move, arghhhh.......

Bah-ha-ha-ha! Sorry Robert, couldn't hold it in. And I can honestly say I know how you feel with building this "partially built" SR9.

Nothing but time my friend.
I posted a few questions pertaining to this subject on a full scale Biplane forum. Need to make sure(absolutely) before I start moving things around.

Someone just showed me what is what from the full scale. I do have to move the struts outwards 1-5/8", darn it.

Well, it is removable but I don't remove it. It does not stick out beyond the fender well's. We'll see about the rest.

Looking most excellent there ace. Even with all your " to do " lists lately, you've gotten to this point pretty quickly. Now comes the tedious work of sanding. I know, I've been sanding for three or four weeks now. Blah. Steve.

You'll get it right Ace... it is looking awesome. How exciting to put the engine on. I feel for you on the sanding, big planes may fly better than smaller ones, however when it comes to sanding well you know...

Workin on it brother.
Took a break from laying tile and moved one strut. Black line is where it was, red arrows are the flying wire attachments which still need to be moved.
Back to work on the tile.

Good job Robert, sorry if I made you do more work.
Speaking of visuals, I tried some detailing on the "Stewart Pitts" little foamy with small screws and pins. Will have to trick out the canopy next. Gets me motivated for recovering the "Big Brother".

Vasek, now Robert can blame you when someone asks him why he isn't flying the Pitts yet!

The other strut has been moved. Now the hard part, moving the wire attachments. I added the second pic because of the optical illusion of severe strut camber. They are only tilted by about 2degs.
