Hi,
I saw something about a product called Rivet Tape which speeds up the layout and make-up of glue rivets. They said this was from an outfit called "Scale Skins" (or at least that's what I think they said). I haven't been able to find anything about this outfit. Can anyone help me out with contact info? Thanks.

Eureka RC is in Norway but that's o.k.. I've sent them an email and will see what they say. Maybe they know someone in this country that can provide what I need. If not, I'll get it from Norway. Thanks again!

Gerry, scale skins was based in Alabama and went out of business last year. I used their Top Flite P-51 scale skins and they work just like a dry transfer decal. It does make the plan look like your typical war bird ARF; no 3D effect.

This Revit Tape just has rows of holes. You put droplets of glue in the holes, pull up the tape and (drumroll please) you have 3d revits out of glue. I'll post my experience with it when I've given it a go.

Hi Guys - I read the post from Gerry and went to the IMP website but did not see the scale skins info. Has anyone got any other leads in the US on the "defunct scale skins"?
thanks

Frank Campbell pulled up stakes in Birmingham. AL and moved to the NC shoreline. Scale Skins was a very expensive polyvinyl for floating onto perfectly smooth prepared surfaces. While they did provide panel lines and access hatch lines on the surface, rivets had to be applied to the surface to provide the required 3D effect to prevent a printed appearance.
Frank sold vinyl laminated perforated tape with various punch diameters and spacing for rivets in several scales. He offered the company for sale but I opt'd in favor of developing my own Flite-Metal rivet product. He probably sold the remaining inventory to his dealer in Norway.
There are multiple sources for perforated tapes, laminated and unlaminated. Most commonly found are those used in the pages of day planners. Regular marginal punched computer paper is not clean edged nor is it spaced correctly for 1/5, 1/6, 1/8 scale.
A visit to Office Max or Office Depot will yield a wealth of punched papers with laminated punching. These can be used three to four times each before having to be thrown away. The same was true of Frank's perforated rivet strips.
I have gathered suppliers of punched laminated tapes in various diameters & lengths and the liquid rivet material but will not bring these to market for about 6 months.
This is a natural addition to the Flite-Metal product line. It will sell under the name Flite-Metal Rosie Riveter. Click below to visit the initial pages of the Rosie Riveter section.http://www.scaleaero.com/flite-metal_rosie_riveter.htm
