Default Tips

How could you produce a aluminium finish on your scale project? How would you add rivets?
When adding rivets does it take a lot of time to do?

Please help thanks

Tails,

Try this link. This is what most guys use for metal finishes.

http://www.scaleaero.com/flitemetal.htm

They have a rivet tool too, but the web page is all screwed up. Most metal finishes have flush (not raised/domed) rivets. In these cases most guys will burn the rivets into the finish with a heated brass tube, mounted to a soldering iron.

Don't know what the availability of this product is... they list a lot of stuff on the ScaleAero web site that they don't have in stock.

Also, BVM sells a product called Metal Kote. It is somewhat expensive but gives superior results. Just check out some of the F-100s on their web page. I am going to use it on an F-86 that is the first project for this building season.
