i just started a scale projet my first scale project and i'm trying to deside what engine to run i would like to run a 4 stroke the larger ones if posable but on the plans the show the cowel cut for clearance i don't want to cut the cowl so i was going to go 2 stroke well still have to cut cowl but if i invert the engine i should be good. well here is the question i was looking at th OS FT 120 and it is set up perfect for this plane a flat twin similar to the real thing carb on the bottom at a 90 ooo i'm in heaven now will this engine fit in the cowel or will i have to cut the cowl?????
Thanks For the help

No matter what engine you select you are going to have to cut the cowl to a certain extent. You are going to need an air intake and an air exhaust for engine cooling. You are also going to need an exhaust outlet for the muffler. You are also going to need a way to get to the needle valve. There also has been a great deal of debate on mounting 4 strokes upside down. I have never had any successs doing it. Others say it works just fine. There are different types of mufflers available to aid in keeping cowl cutting to a minium. Good Luck, Dave
