I might need some custom decals made. I am doing a 1/3 scale Stearman and might end up doing the Red Baron show team aircraft if I cannot find a real Super Stearman that was painted in military colors. If I do the Red Baron Stearman I will need some of the logos done.
Is there a process someone can explain how to make them and give a materials list? I don't know if it is possible to do them with an ink-jet or color laser on any material at all and I am looking for ideas and solutions.
Or is there a company that I can contact to get them made for me if I provide pictures of them?

Go to www.decal-paper.com They make water-slide decal paper for inkjet printers. If you ever need to create your own, for whatever, reason, there are always places like this to help you. BTW, this wasn't the only place, just the first that came up on my search list.

Hi,
I use VitaCal decal paper that can be printed in a inkjet printer and then sprayed with a mist of sealer. After drying you can cut them out and soak them in water as regular decals. Works great!

I have used VitaCal paper with a friends scanner and ink jet printer. Worked wonderful over compound fabric open structure.
I ordered paper from the above decal place - much better price but have not tried it yet.
Now I will get a printer and scanner plus adobe illustrator and streamline software. I will scan in decals from a plastic model, book or mag and change image from raster to vector - do corrections if needed then print to the desired size. I use glow so I will have to fuel proof - probably polyurethane as I want to try using latex house paint for the model.
