Default inkjet decals

I am wondering if anyone has produced computer image inkjet printer decals for planes?

What is the material used and where do you get it?

Any special tips I would need to know?

Thanks for any info

I have done so for my Gee Bee Y. I feel that they turned out well, but you will have to fuelproof them with clear Monokote if you are running a glow plane. I went to an office shop and bought some clear material with a sticky backing. Roughly 2 dollars per sheet for an 8.5x11 sheet.

I asked this same question not long ago. Do a search for
"computer graphics". Lots of good answers

It works very well, just buy clear labels, they come in different sizes, so check which one will best fit your needs, after printing on them, let the ink dry for a few minutes and then spray a fuel proof clear, like Lusterkote, they stick and hold very well under use, if you are going to be placing the decal near exhaust residue, it would be best to place the decal first and then spray the clear, thus sealing the edges, I did a bunch of American flags, and sprayed the sheet before installing the decals, it is also a good idea, let's say that you used some odd color of paint for your model, when finished with your paint leftover, spray some on the label material, should you later need to patch an area, you already have some great stick on material in the exactly the same color, I know, because that's what I did, and lo and behold about a week later I had to do a small patch, and used the label material already painted, you can hardly notice the difference.
