lv, I don't know what you two are talking about.......but I do know that your bird looks grand sitting there in the pits ready to fly!
You have inspired me to get out to the shop again. I have worked on the tail skid and stabilizer struts.
Now its time to get the top wing finished........

Glad ya posted more photos Art waiting to see Finished bird! I figure I`ll post this pic of my BUSA-modified to a more accurate scale outline still finishing up things to get it airworthy. When Im happy with the end results I`ll post more photos (did`nt do any construction ones stopped for some reason a few builds ago[sm=72_72.gif]) Should be ready for maiden @ early June.

Jim, good looking plane. I like the 'rose' scheme. I am looking at early June also for a maiden flight.......it won't be finished by a long shot, but I hope to be airworthy by then.
I have missed getting ready for the contest season with mine - but there is always next year. At least maybe I can get some flight time on it this season and detail it out next winter.

Got some rib stitching done on the rudder, stab and elevators.
I use a running stitch and in this case put the continuous part on the bottom of the surfaces. This leaves the tops nice and clean.
I have included both the finished product and the stitches without rib tape.

lv that is quite a show! You folks had a big crowd, too!
Is that your home field? Do you fly all of your aerial displays from there?
Do you ever do any dog fighting? cameras in two planes dog fighting would make very interesting video.
Cheers,

The wings are slowing me down.......first the hinges were binding. Then I finally noticed that the wing was twisting.....diagonals did not help much at all.
Then I added a row balsa sheer webbing to the front and rear spars. This helped, but still the wing flexed too much.
I added a second row of sheer webbing to both sets of spars. Much better! The next big step is fitting the aileron crank onto the torque tube. Then add the lite ply root ribs and finish the cap stripping.
Finish the left wing to the same stage of completion as the right one.......fit the wing joiners....and on and on it goes.
The diagonals are 1/4 inch square blasa.....the two center bays are 1/4 inch bass wood.
The sheer webbing is 1/8 inch balsa.
The aileron crank is 3 layers of 1/32 inch aircraft plywood.
