Does anyone know where to get a good 40 size zero kit
that flys well ??

WING Manufacturing is back in bussisness, they were at the Toledo show last month. They carry a Sport-Scale Short Kit (wood pack optional) of the M6M2. They also carry a Scale versions (foam wings, cowling, and plans only). I have the scale version and it's a great flying model. Very fast and unforgiving with a .46 to .50 size engine.

Kyosho has a arf zero 40 size,with a fiber glas fuselage.
With a ys 53 forestroke it flew perfect.

The Midwest Zero is 'Stand Really far off' scale. Its a sport plane dressed up to resemble a Zero.
If you're interested in something much closer to scale check out the Marutaka Zero with the 58" span. I have their larger Zero (and a couple others) and these kits are quite accurate to scale and good fliers. However they are builders kits and not for a beginner. You'd want 3-4 kits under your belt before tackling one of these. Its available at www.hobbybarn.com for $169.

You might want to try the new ZERO model by Seagull, from Horizon Hobby. This is a realy nice A.R.F.

I just finished my Kyosho Zero ARF 40. I did not install retracts. I am concerned with the CG. The manual says that the model should weigh in at 5.7 lbs and it did. However, I had to add 8 oz of led to the front because the model was tail heavy. My guess is that the 8 oz of led is needed to make up for the missing retracts and extra servo. Has anybody had this problem?
