RE: fokker d-8
After the war, some that went to other governments had some solid paint jobs like Italy had a silver job, but I dont think there is German war scheme without the lozenge. Jasta 6 was the most colorful squadron with bands around the fuse. and black and white striped tail, but the planes were withdrawn from service before it got the full treatment like other German ones.

There was one in Poland that had an OD color. There must be a squadron publication showing several different color schemes. Here's a link to a photo of this plane [link=http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1120714082014318085WPaSyH]http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1120714082014318085WPaSyH[/link]

There may have been one painted in a yellow/black diamond pattern, but that would be almost as difficult to mask/paint as the lozenge. Otherwise you will have to go with a post war color scheme,Polish etc.

Here's a DVIII scheme that's easy to duplicate. I found it on some plastic modeller's website. It should be authentic, but I have no documentaion to prove it.

Wings Palette, a Russian site has hundreds of color profiles. Both the above schemes are shown but in side view only. There are notations of the units and pilots: http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww1/f/254/3/0
You'll have to go to the D VIII and click on it, then to each page by country.
The Tom C scheme was used on a modern replica of a D VIII built in the UK by Leisure Sport. It was destroyed in a fatal accident in August 1981. I do have one 3/4 front photo from Air Enthusiast Seventeen magazine, which I can scan for you, Tom, if you want. This issue also has an extensive 13 page article on the D VIIIs.

Pulling deep from my memory banks, my color scheme was used originally by Theo Ousterhouse. (sp?). Seems to me that it was from August, in the last months of the war.
I appreciate your offer to scan the pic, but I have sold my DVIII, and do not need it.
