I think abufletcher must actually be a small village sharing one chat name and computer !
I wish I could watch his maiden on the newest plane, possibly he has it done now.
Keep up the good work Abu ! I see you on almost any WW1 thread I go to...

And Zentsuji, Japan is the perfect place to get nothing done. In fact, I'm able to accomplish far less here, and in less time I might add, than I've ever been able to elsewhere. The CI, however, is awaiting both some new parts and a replacement for the RCV engine that wasn't running properly. In the meantime...

I didn't mean to throw you to the wolves !
I spent a bunch of time ripping tearing and cutting out poison ivy at my Moms farm this year, that was the first thing in my mind...I hope that stuff isn't some nasty type plant that leaves a rash !

You have discovered us. We are actually a tribe of WWI modelers living a primative lifestyle centered around a culture which worships WWI aircraft. We build to honor our gods and sacrifice our models on the flying fields in a form of ritualized destruction.
hey abu if you do get a bit of sleep you might actually fly that snipe of yours!

Today I offered my Puppeteer up to the gods three times. But they refused to accept my meager sacrifice so I had to take the plane back home with me. Perhaps they are waiting for the Snipe.

You, of course, know Don
that only proper ribstitching will bring the gods in a good mood
and may persue them to hand over the snipe to you again after they have some fun with it,

(amazing: while typing this I see that Don is offline for the first time I can remember...............)

Yes, it has been rumored darkly around the field that the gods are greatly displeased by the ARFs now being offered up. Some even suggest that the gods have forsaken our field; that the Great Spirit of Aeromodeling has departed. The Old Ones tell us stories of days when balsa kits ruled the skies. The Young Ones do not believe them, of course. Surely the Old Ones jest when they speak of silk and dope and hours spent on rib-stitching and rivets.

Some have broken away and have forsaken The Builder's Way. They now worship this new Electric God of the Shiny ARF. But it is a false god, a laser-cut god, a monocote god and we of the True Belief will not be swayed by its dark charms. For we know these ARFs will bring blight upon the green of our fields.

What evil object is this that resides in this "model?" It maketh no noise and emiteth no pleasing stench nor oily residue with which to sooth our hands.
