Default Looking for a PT-19

Hi guys
I just want to know if there is any PT-19 being manufactured right now in the 60 to 90 size, I love the looks of that plane especialy because it was my first plane (a cox line controled one) and i would realy love to have one in that size but i can't seem to find one i remember hangar 9 used to sell one but it's no longer available i think it has been discontinued for more than 6 years or so. Can anyone point me in the right direction please if you of one a bit bigger than that it would be nice too

Thanks for any info guys
Sergio

I did this same search about 2 years ago and came up dry. Both Hanger 9 and Great Planes had 1.20 size ARFS, but both are discontinued. Sometimes one will show up on e-bay or at swap meets.

Both make small Park Flyer versions now and I have the H-9 one. It flies great.

I started the same as you and have a soft spot for the PT-19, but unless you build from plans, you are out of luck. Hostetler sells plans for a 1/3 (1/4?) scale version that I know flies well and there are several other plans floating around that appeared in magazines years ago.

Dynaflite had a kit, (also discontinued) that you can sometimes run across. It, also was a good flyer.

But, other than that we are both out of luck.

I can not help you fine a kit but I just started a Jemco PT-19 kit that I have had for 30+ years. It is a .40 size kit and I will be putting a TT GP-40 in it which just arrived today. Every once in a while the kits show up on RCU or e-bay. Jemco put out some very good kits and over the years I have built a number of them.

Are we feeling a little nostalgic?
This is the orignal box top from circa 1975. The Cox PT-19 was my first flying model airplane. I was twelve and flew the wings off it on my street in front of my house until getting into r/c three years later.....good times.

Sergio,
My suggestion is to get a hold of the plans from a Jemco/Marks Models kit and enlarge them to the size you want and build it from scratch or have a kit cutter cut the ribs and bulk heads. You may be able to get a fiberglass cowl for the Hanger 9 model to fit your model if you build it the same scale.....just a thought.
Fun project. Good luck.
Ken.

Thanks a lot for the info guys I guess i will have to scratch build it, i just don't really have much time to build, it will be one of those really long proyects, I will use this as a excuse to build it large XD let's say for a 40cc engine or so

thanks again for the ifo guys

Yeah, I had one of those too! I remember the little metal can of Cox fuel and the clip that slipped over the engine's glow plug. I think mine lasted maybe 2-3 laps before I flew it into the ground. []

But if you're just looking for a PT-19 ARF, Seagull Models makes one in a 40-size:

BTW, there's also this control line version from Hanger 9:

Here's the website for Seagull Models. Maybe they can suggest a distributor:

Ah yes, Jemco PT-19. A vintage model. Mine is still in good shape! Many many flights. In fact mine has more flights than any of my planes. Power= OS.28FSR

Jack Devine Models has one that is for a 90 2 stroke or 120 4 stroke.

Recently inquired about this plane from Jack and looks like his health is
back to normal and he will be producing kits again.
