Howdy hisham,
Unfortunately that first photo (ie "without pants") is not a Hawk; it is a Miles Magister!!
But don't let this spoil your choice.
Stay lucky,
Best Regards,
wurger

Howdy hisham,
Have contacted a number of modellers, none of whom unfortunately have any personal experience of the MAP Hawk plan.
A number of them have experience of other MAP scale plans and the indications are that they are generally good in terms of accuracy and fit of parts. However this does not necessarily mean any individual plan falls into this category.
Unfortunately I am unable to help on this matter.
good luck,
Best Regards

Be very carefull about the Miles Hawk family of aircraft. I have been researching this airplane for several years and have found limited information. I am building a Miles Hawk G-ADNL from scratch and the wings are different than other hawks.
Some hawks have a straight center section and then tapered outer panels. the Hawk that I am building has the center section removed and only has the outer panels, it was built for racing.
If you can find it WINGS OVER WOODLEY, by Julian C. Temple has the best history of these aircraft is have seen so far. Many of the hawks were one of a kind custom built for racing in the 1930's. This is a hardbound book from england.
If you decide to build make sure your documention, 3-view and photos match your plans. When I started my project I got two different plans of Miles Hawks and didn't like any of them and decided to build from my own plans to match my documention.
Good luck,
Fred Cronenwett

Hi Hisham
I have the MAP 1/4 scale Miles Hawk Speed Six you are referring to. The accuracy of the plan is good. all wood fuselage with foam outer wings. You can obtain it from MAP Plans service(www.flyingscalemodels.com).
Other Miles plans can be obtained from:
PHILLIP S. KENT
32 MOORBOTTOM,
CLECKHEATON,
WEST YORKSHIRE
BD19 6AD
GREAT BRITAIN
who has 1/4 scale plans for Miles Sparrowhawk and Hawk Speed Six (version with reduced wingspan)
Good luck!

Hi Hisham,
I hope you are doing well. Yes there are plans of the Miles Hawk Speed. The British magazines have made a few plans available over the years including NEXUS PUBLICATIONS (forgot their website address) but yesterday i also bumped into the FLYING SCALE MODELS magazine and they have a 1/4 scale one. Locate them here:
www.flyingscalemodels.com
The price of the plan is 19 Pounds Sterling.
Good luck with your project.
Regards
Reuben

Hi Hisham,
Great you are progressing on the Stuka. I have put aside my Mig-15 mold for the moment as I embarked on two concurrently build, one being the turbine trainer Kangaroo and the other is the DC-3. The latter I have a fiberglass fuse and am utilising the Ziroli DC-3 plans to build the rest of the plane. Incidentally the fuselage mates well with the Ziroli wings and so that is what I have decided to build as a first.
With regards to the HAWK I will look through my magazines and if I have the write-up of their plans than I will scan the pages it e-mail it.
Regards for now

I've got those 1/4 scale speed 6 plans... got 'em from the designer in Australia!
Played a fortune and they weren't anything nearly as well drawn as the ones that where publish in the UK magazine a few years later.
There is a 6'er hangered with the Shuttleworth collection, a real beauty and I was even in discussion about purchasing it some years ago...seriously. Went with dot coms instead and well... you know the rest of the story.
The engineer was telling me that it had a different wing, can't remember what he said but it was different from the plans I'd bought.
Needles to say, that was enough to halt the building proccess.
I'd love to catch up with this project again as the 'worths 6 is a stunner!

Hi Hisham,
I found the write-up and have 10 pages for you which i scanned this afternoon. I will be sending them slowly by email because they are somewhat big even though they are in JPG format.
Hope you like them
