Nope, not my aircraft but it looks scale. Photo taken at the World Miniature Warbird Association meet in December, 2004 in Florida.

Thanks, I "fingered" it out. I tried the preview and didn't see any photo so I uploaded it twice. Wow, talk about revealing ones ignorance. Thanks.

RE: Best scale photo!
Not to worry. I did the very same thing!!!:(

I have resisted posting to this thread because my model is "fictional" and doesn't meet the strict requirements but at least it is a quite realistic photo. The model was photographed on a plywood table to raise it to the proper perspective for the Miramar F-18s in the background. There is no retouching although now I would do a bit of Photoshop on it.

Im not completely done looking at all the photos yet, but I'd like to say. WOW!
Im especially fond of the warbirds on short grass. I will try and post a couple in the next couple of days if they are still on my hard drive. Good job on all "perspective" photos! Dean |

I'll try another stab at posting a scale photo. The photo was taken a Top Gun 2004. The aircraft is a 1/6 scale F-5 weighing in at 47 pounds with a wingspan of 54 inches. The owner and pilot is Bryce Watson who happens to be a commercial airline pilot. Go figure.

An image from Top Gun 2004 of David Johnson's Albatross. Dave drove down from Vernon Connecticut to compete in the Masters class with his 1/3 scale Albatross D3. It weighs 32 pounds and has a Zenoah G-62 engine with a 118 inch wingspan. Dave is quite a model builder.

Hi Tom, Thanks for those kind words. My good friend Graham took the photos and he deserves the credit for capturing the action. Here are a couple more showing the V1 Doodlebug being carried aloft and released. All the best, John

Will this work? I guess now's the time to re-post those photo requirements... The photos should be the following... A) The aircraft modeled must be that of an actual aircraft. B) The model should be a "SCALE" model. meaning... It should look like the aircraft that is being modeled. If the real plane had strut and wheel covers... so should the model(it should'nt have music wire struts). There should be no rx antennas showing in the photo. If the real plane had a 3 or 4 blade prop, and this is a picture of that plane(model) on the ground? Then the model should have a 3 or 4 blade prop, not a Zinger 20x10. etc...etc. Think of this as a kind of "Top Gun" of photo threads. And finally, that brings us to the most confusing of the requirements of the photo. ...C) The photo should be "of an angle that you would actually be looking at the aircraft" or "as the eye perceives it". ...meaning...Don't post the picture of that beautiful Mustang with a guy holding it during engine run ups. Thanks to all for participating...it's going great. -Mustang51

|

See if this works for A B & C. It is a scale model of an actual plane (as all mine are) electric again at 93" wingspan. Photo again by Graeme.
