I wouldn't say that, but it is summer and most are doing other things.
Something that is affecting the reaction to your thread is that Dumas no longer is selling your kit. Not saying that's a bad thing but many watch threads to get ideas on the what and why of building the subject of the thread. Since the Mr Darby is no longer in production, some won't be interested. Personally, I like a good build thread, I just don't post unless I have a question or thoughts on a way to do something. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how everything goes

germaina wheft ag shipyard report..not a bad few hrs.got the #2 hull cradle for new stand for tug hull #5 came out better than i hoped..finished sanding inside hull in prop area..now can start roughing in motor supports and end and sides for a wet/flood chamber..i hope to use lake water and a pump to get 2/3's of the 75 pounds..at 9lbs a gallon if i can get a 4 gallon tank in thats 36 pounds i dont have to pack...also spent some time on s-42 shaft fits fine now..think im ready to marry the hull 1/2's and pack the keel with brake lathe shavings and epoxy..now the slip ways are full.. i gotta komando back in the rotation soon

germaina wheft ag shipyard report…after what seemed like a life time of filling and sanding got the prop shaft covers on and glassed in..trying a few moter mount mock ups not happy with any of them..ideally i would like to turn the motor cans at 45 degrees and out-aboard next to the hull.. this will keep them above any flooding and give me blue water ability(ie i can take rough water and some internal flooding and keep the electronics safe)to sail…would like a thinner support or different still playing with this and other mock up’s as i think of them for now..also let me introduce you to a little tool i discovered by Milwaukee..ya put the flat down then roll the level to to be level and bobs your uncle ya got and angle to work with for your fab work

Dog bone is fine, just not that material. I would go with a metal one , even though it will require an occasional greasing. IIRC, that one is nylon and, like all softer materials, it will wear out in a relatively short period of time

Look at the double universal joint, shown part way down the page. I would use that instead as it is all metal and can't shear off the drive pins or fall out. You may need to lower the motors slightly to line them up.
If you have any questions, their contact information is at the bottom of the home page

3rd mock up is my final winner..found some aluminum clamps that i could modify and with a little heat bending was just the thing..liked the mount so much we have mocked it up with a sleeve and cut shims and marked out line for base and resin dam
