Yes I would say that 16 bulkheads is more than enough.
Did some rough water sea trails this week end, the boat handled very well. I did get some water inside of the hull, from waves every now and then, depending on the direction I was faceing.

I've found that a 'little' water is going to be normal unless you totally seal all openings in the hull/deck. As long as the water level stays below the level of the motor's brushes, and assuming that the motor isn't mounted to 'high' in the hull, or the rest of the electronics isn't below the motor, things work out just fine. It helps to have paper towels, a sponge, bilge pump, turkey baste'r, lots'a luck, and a hula dancing midget girlfriend...

The water was very little, I will install a small lip around the cargo deck and open the bulworks with a few scaffold holes. At the moment any water that gets over the bulworks is going into the motor room, no where else for it to go.

I just happen to have a spool of 2" packing tape (clear). I seal the after hatch on a 'Wyeforce' with it to keep the water out. Looks sort of 'hokey' up close but can't see it at a distance. Works.

For sealing any hatches, I use radio box tape. The good stuff is a little costly $12-$15 a roll but well worth it. This is the first boat that I build That I have not worry much about the water and electronics. Before I make a water tight lid for the motor room I will have to install some type of venting system.
Thanks very much for the tip.

Thanks Matts maxx. Nothing to it man. This boat I started over 2 years ago, after the hull was complete I gave it to my younger brother to finish it up. motors and hardware electronics. Bottom line is I only have maybe 3 to 4 weeks of building and figuring. Just start it and do work on it as you feel, before you know it you will be making waves.
This boat is worth the time it takes to build, lots of enjoyment.

I thought maybe you would be interested in seeing this link. You mentioned kitting these boats out is why I mention it.
