Hello everyone! I'm a newbie to this forum, but have been building Model Boats for some time. I've been told that you CANNOT glue wood to polyester Fibreglass with epoxy. I know you can use Epoxy (resin) on Epoxyglass, but can someone tell me if regular "hobby shop" epoxy will hold, and bond to, Polyester Fibreglass? If you can't use it, what WILL work??? Thanks!

Seems like I have epoxied to polyester resin quite often. It probably works for me because I didn't know any better. Now that I know, all my joints are going to break loose.[&:]
Regardless of what glue you use, rough up the are to be cemented with course sand paper. Doing this creates a lot of texture that the glue can get a grip on and hold.

Epoxy resin will stick to polyester resin only if you roughen up the surface but only for a while. It all depends on how rough the surface is. If you want a permanent bond then it is polyester to polyester or epoxy to epoxy.
