new find looking for info
hey guys i have a new project at hand and was looking for building tips and info on the boat. plus i'd like to know were to pick up some parts or maybe how to build somethings. well i don't know whos made the hull but i'm third owner. so i'm going to strip alot of it out and put the transom back to the height it should be at it was cut to low. the boat looks like a lobster boat it is 48" long by 16" wide and set up for gas i'd like to do it up like a real lobster boat so i spent some time online looking at lobster boats i have a few ideas on some of the wood working i just have to see if my tools will stay running long enough to finish it's old stuff. still thinking about colors but i had some ideas i'd like to make up the rubber bumpers the orange one what do you all think i'd like to hear from you all and see somethings you have done. has anyone seen one this big or have done one this big please let me know any info would be great thanks kyle here is a pic of how it is now [img][/img]

RE: new find looking for info
It is a Maine Lobster Boat with an open transom, you can find them either way. The one you have was more than likely used for racing. Yes, they do race them and they go fast. There is a gentleman that builds them in fiberglass up in Maine just for racing. As for colors they are painted all kinds. Look for harbor photos for some ideas.
I will try and dig thru my stuff and see if I can find him.

knbaudio,
Someone had a similar boat a few pages back. I posted some pics of lobsterboats found on yachtworld. Maybe these will help.

well here some more pics i should start a different post but this one still going. i keep forgetting to take pics as i go so thing just jump ahead. the next thing is to find a 4 or 5 bladed prop and finish glassing in the rails and parts before glassing in the upper and lower deck.
