u ook the servos to da receiver
Da ESC make the motor go fast and slo. It plugs into da receiver on one end. The other end connect the
ESC to da motor. U connect it with wires. Guess wut, the ESC has the 3rd end too! It connect to da battery.
A receiver is like FM radio it recieves radio signals. Soory no music, just da signals from ya transmittar.
U need 3 channels for a dynamic deever and at least 4 ch for a static boot.

if u by ur radio system as a set no u dont need any wires unless u plan on bying thingz like servo extensions those are xtra wires u use to lengthen teh distance if u hav a long sub hull batterys generaly come with appropriate plugs most use tamiyas style connectors that fit wit most escs and if u hav too moters you can use two escs or use only one if the current is not too strong ur sub only has one reciver hope this helps

Try a 540 size Mabuchi or Johnson, they are usually cheap (can be found at electronic surplus stores), although I heard that they can be quite power hungry.

Get two 540 size motors, and get 2 lots of wire.
Really, I think that maybe you should start out with an RC kit car/ buggy or something, so you can work out the basics.
