Tamiya Leopard 2 A6 kit. Why so expensive?

Congrats sev. I just don't take kindly too being called a fool for any reason. He just responded to a post to a guy about the plastic gears and called them crap when the guy wanted to know if it was necessary to do the metal up grade straight away. Seems he cant make up his mind on whether hi HL stuff is any good either. LOL Tempers are short in this part of the country and patience is even shorter. Just a fact of life here. I generally try not to ever take sides on this issue be cause it is a non issue to me but every once in a while some guy just has to do it. Then he turns around and calls probably more than half the members here fools? Not a good way to make friends or a helpful reputation. His input just isn't needed. Nothing useful there.

Yes, I read his post on the gears. Mayhap he was just having a bad day, who knows. And trust me, I've been called a whole lot worse than 'fool' you can rest assured. Doesn't matter to me, hence my comment about the correct way to pigeon hole me, to wit, 'Tamiya snob'.
Thanks for the congrats. We haven't bred any dogs now in almost 4 years, as the economy tanked long ago. Since the election, things have really picked up. so we figured we give Plyushya a try. We bred her with our big black boy, Melik, the biggest collie you'll ever see. He's taller than VCO standing on his hind legs. Plyushya has done well, but VCO and I are about to drop.

Yeah things can go a stray quickly around here when comments are made that are un called for and have no purpose. that guy posts about once a month or so and never seems to have anything constructive to say. just venting his frustrations with his HL tanks. All mine work fine. most of them run Tamiya electronics. Some are bone stock. seems that is the best way. Convert them totally or leave them alone entirely.

Apology accepted. I've been known to imbibe rather copious amounts of spirits myself, with the resultant foolish behavior on my part. No harm meant. no harm done.

tamiya stuff is usually quite overpriced. I'm not even talking tanks. Most of their old rc cars are plastic parts, Doesnt cost jack to make, and they usually came on trees, even cheaper. Not hating, but they are making good money on these kits.

I think everyone now knows your opinion.

I would very much like a Tamiya model but the simple fact is I can't afford one right now. I love the challenge of a complex kit; I remember as a kid trying to make sure all the turrets on an AirfixB17 were in exactly the right place before glueing on the other half of the fuselage!
