Hey All,
Turns out that during my Crusader and Cromwell projects, I find myself with a enough parts to put together a complete t34/76 (1942 turret), which will be a nice side project.
I want to fit it with Heng Long gearboxes, radio, airsoft, turret rotation and elevation etc. The easiest thing to do might be to buy a Panzer 3 and gut it... but that's sort of a waste of a tank.
So... can I buy everything I need from Mato, or where ever, a la carte as it were? And if so - what parts would I actually need? I've never put together any hevay electronics before - so if anyone can idiot-proof a list for me and tell me EXATCLY what I need, that would be great.
Appreciate the help gents!

You are in Canada I see. Everything is available from Mato. If you don't see it on their web page, email them, because they will have it.

Get hold of Phil (blitzkrieg65 ). I have replaced all my 3 Mato Sherman and WSN electronics with HL and Phil has the complete setups.

Buy a Panzer III and I will give you $ for the upper hull (large plastic part only) and you keep the rest including turret and all wires / electronics. Need it for a stug conversion but don't want to buy a complete tank for 1 piece of plastic
PM me....

Oh yea, can we see pictures of the Cromwell so we can drool over it.

Pics are coming.... I was sanding the lower hull last night. Need to get a coat of primer on it and fit the new sprockets, return wheels and running wheels. Trying to get the time, but it has just been a really busy few months.
I took a look at the Mato site.... probably easier and cheaper to buy a Panzer 3 that Mato has on sale.

Yep you can get all the parts you need from the above listed suppliers and RCCommand also. Mato is most likely your best bet being in Canada.

I managed to get a HL elevation machanism in my T34/76 but it was a tight squeeze, best of luck with the rest of it!

Well when it gets down to dollars and cents and even though the tank prices have gone up a little since I have bought one,i found out a long time ago it is just cheaper and easyer to buy a new tank and strip it for all the parts. That way you have everything, not just the basics that are sold in the up-grade S&S kits.It was even better this way if you live where you have a seller who ships for free and had the best prices to boot.It is kind of painfull to strip a perfect new tank[&o]but dollars and cents it is the way to go.
If a guy is into painting you can allways use the hull to practice painting on or sell it or give it to someone.
I went that route for a few projects i did.

I like to look at this way when you just buy a new tank for parts, verses the typical S&S up-grade items listed to up-grade a tank.
New tank parts you get............
Another wall charger.
Another battery.
Bottle of smoke oil.
New transmitter.
Crystals (A set)
Tank commander figure.
All the boards.
Smoker unit.
Turret motor
Gun (the BB firing unit)
Misc switches
Turret ring gear
Speaker.
Sprockets.
Idlers.
Tracks.
Road wheels
Swing arms and springs
Gear boxes
Misc. external lights
Gun and turret
New hull
Misc mini-boards for internal connections of wiring
Some of the external misc. goodies mounted on the outside of tank.
more screwsLOL
Well this is from memory,Did I miss very much.......LOL
Now I guess all one has to do is check out the price and items included for the typical S&S up-grade kit...........And compair it to the cost of a new tank and all the parts you get from the new tank.........................
And I'll bet you might be able to figure out the best way to go.

Shep,
Sounds great. I am in no hurry either. Let me know when you get it and I will send you some $$$. PIII is one of the cheaper versions to purchase also.

For a T-34 you would be better buying a KV-1 as the HL Rx for the KV has the diesel engine sounds. That is what i used in mt T-34's except that i used the Tamiya package. it is a little more accurate for a T-34. Just a thought.
