Default Tamiya King Tiger VS Panther G

What is the difference between the King Tiger and the Panther G kit, besides the tank itself? There is a big price difference, but what is improved in the Panther kit over the King Tiger kit?

My guess is that the track tensioner system is far better on the Panther kit.... The spring loaded system on the KT doesn't work very well out of the box, but can be improved easily.

Biggest operational difference is the track. Stock KTplastic track tends to break. Panther track is more robust. For normal rc tanking the idler issues with a KT tend to be irritating. The Panther has a few gun related wobble issues but overallPanther is better OOB. Iwill never build a KTby choice but it can be made into a great runner with basic mods. THe cost difference is usual made up in needed improvements.

edoubleaz,
What kind of mods are you talking about?? I am planning on buying a KT and looking at bearings ,metal tracks, idler upgrades, 480 motors and a geardown add on. Would this be enough to make it a good runner??

Thanks,
Ron

That is the list. Idlers and metal Tracks are the HAVE TOs. Bearings are really niceand the motors make it drive much better with all themetal. You are on the righttracks....pun intended.
