Bren Gun Carrier
In answer to a request by a forum member, I am posting these photos of my Bren Gun Carrier.
This AFV is a Verlinden 120mm static resin model that I converted to R/C about 10 years ago. It runs well, but the suspension is fixed. I didn't feel like trying to make it functional, that was too much work.....
The circuit board is out of a kids R/C tank toy......one of those New Bright products from China. It was a miracle that the board and other things fit in the available space without messing everything up. I really got involved with the cosmetic details on this thing and it is one of my favorites. Technology has marched on since then and R/C equipment has gotten a lot smaller, thanks to the robotics people. I also did a Jeep back then. and a Dingo using the Tamiya R/C Kubelwagen guts.
I hope this helps.
(What the heck is going on with these big photos????????)

Man this photo thing is an absolute disaster[:'(] Send my pics everywhere, but posting on RCU is a mess[:@][:@]
The Bren is a neat track. I had a T-16, which was the US Ford version with 4 bogies and a bit longer. It was a ball to drive...had two brake laterals as well as the steering lateras, so you could yank back and stand that baby on it's nose.

That Bren gun carier is too cool! Very nice detail.
Click on the pix and they get smaller?! It's like the zoom is backwards.

what scale is it? (120mm = ?)

Unless I am mistaken, 120mm is the metric equivalent of 15th scale. Somebody correct me if that's wrong. As far as I know Verlinden and Bandai are the only models made in 120mm or 1/15 scale, but I'm not sure about that. I kinda regard 1/15th and 1/16th as so close that they are pretty much the same to me. Anything I build is supposed to come out 1/16, but there are usually things about it that are 1/15th and 17th scale. The 1/18 stuff that is out there is even acceptable (to me) if you don't park it too close to the other two scales.
I wish HL or somebody would come out with more stuff too. I would much rather spend $150 than spend a couple of months scratchbuilding something.
I think I just told a lie. I have too much fun scratchbuilding. [sm=biggrin.gif]

I stole the lower chassis and R/C stuff from the Tamiya 1/16 Kubelwagen and shortened it to fit. It's 8 inches long, 4 inches wide and 4 inches high. The tires are my first attempt at making rubber tires.
Clicking on those big pictures really does make them zoom out!
