Valuable HL tank info....
Hi Guy's i just hooked up my watt meter to one of my stock HL tanks to see just how much watts and AMPS the tank draws.
So here it goes!!
So the tank has white cap motors i am pretty sure and the gear box on this tank due to the big front wheel probably puts more strain on the electronics than the lowered geard down tanks from HL so all that siad it realy don't draw that much current...also a good 3900 GP battery pack was used in the test.
The set up on my tank that i will be driving in this grass and it's not flat it goes up hill also.
AMP And watt draw at stand still
AMP AND WATTS AT START UP STAND STILL
Driving around the yard results
Going up this incline
GOT THESE RESULTS going up hill in pic above
Now beating on the tank forcing stress full speed starts up inclines results
So here it goes!!

Very good data! Do you have other setup you can test? Like 3:1 gears, different motors.

I have one bulldog with Phils T400 motors in it and some stock tamiya tanks.

RE: Valuable HL tank info....
do all the stock hl tanks have the same gear ratio? or are the gear ratios of different tanks different based on the size of the drive wheels? just a curious question.

RE: Valuable HL tank info....
The general gear ratio for the gearbox is the same. The total drive ratio is dictated by the diameter of the drive sprocket. Bigger dia sprocket means faster tank.

A couple of years ago I got similar results using El Mod with 480 motors and Asiatam gearboxes.

I'm currently overhauling my M26A1 and before it goes back together I will hook up my Watts Up Meter and publish the results. It's running stock metal gears, old black capped motors and TK-RX13 board with 1lb of ballast in the bow.

Very useful data. 5.2A peak draw isn't that much. Guess I'll give it a try with 6x AA 2650mAh accus to see how it goes. (after I manage to find a suitable battery holder that is - apparently it's tough to find one side holders with two rows of 3 accus)
