Are all the Tamiya IR battle systems the same for all Tamiya tanks or are there individual ones for each type of tank??????

I believe they are all the same, why make them different.

Yep there all the same. the ones they sell now have a bracket to mount the receiver plug in the turret made to fit the Tiger. This is the only one they sell now so you need to modify it to fit. Most kits I have seen have 2 of these brackets included. 1 for the phony looking commander in the hatch and one for the apple. You jus t need to use the proper one for your intended use. if you plan on using the TBU you use the bracket that receives the apple.

The reason I was asking is that I saw on evilbay that ther are ones for panzer111 , panther, sherman, king tiger and so on and range in price from 78- 100 bucks. I did not know if they had diffferent ones for different tanks or what ??

Are you talking about the IR receiver that normally sits in the turret, what some people call the "apple"

If the aswner to the above question is yes, then they are all the same, so buy the cheapest you can find..

Yes I am , the receiver " apple"and the IR "gun" led . I will assume that it is all in the tbu and it just plugs into the Tamiya module in the tank?? are the incoming sounds and things like that in the tbu or the tank unit ?? and last is this all I will need to do IR battle??

All the battle related sound effects already exist inside the MF unit. The TBU just activates and triggers them to play over the speaker.

Yes, the TBU socket, cable, apple and IR Emitter are all you need to participate in IR battles with any Tamiya F/O tank.

To use the Tamiya TBU you do need a Full Option electronics package from one model or another. This consists of the DMD, MFU, Flash unit, and TBU which is the Apple and the plug that mounts in the turret. This is the part that plugs into the MFU. The sounds come from the DMD unit which must then be used through the MFU. It is a system as a whole. All four pieces can be purchased separately, but you do need all four to IR battle with the Tamiya system.

It will be going in my FO Tamiya KT so allI need now is the TBU and I'll be set.
