That this is so tall, I wonder if the apple can be hit.

Maybe a new weight class? Super Heavy with impenetrable frontal armour.

Thanks for the comments. I'm flattered that I got one from FFR2608, the master builder if there ever was one.

As far as questions are concerned, all details and additional photos are to remain top secret until after the battle..

Leaving things unknown prior to then will help give restless sleep to the enemy the night before

Have no idea why you even put an apple on that thing! Should have IFA, ISA, and IRA!
Looks like Porsche suspension from a JT, which is a nice idea and application. Can't wait for the photos after you slaughter the Allies.

Get a couple of Shermans up close and they'll run rings around it! After setting fire to his external fuel tanks they'll shoot his running gear to pieces and then scare the crew to death with repeated hits from HE rounds which will eventually fracture the armor and start internal fires.

Can't wait to see the photos. Especially liked the poster. You should scale them down to 1:16 and stick them to the DAK buildings on the field like propoganda.

You are assuming he would work alone, no armor or troop support.

Good to see another 1/16 Maus project!
Keith Graybeal of ACE Club ran his Maus at Danville from 2004 through 2006, but I have not seen it since then. He used a King Tiger chassis. Maybe he has build photos to share.

I do have one photo of Keith's Maus in combat at Danville in 2004. As you can see, it took a mob of other tanks to encircle it! www.lowell.to/posters2/tankbattle2.jpg

No, they'd all be dead already or have retreated at the cost of a couple other shermans.

A Maus with only an IR sensor in the rear would be interesting. Invulnerable from all side but the back. Make it slower than a snail and set all the opposing tanks to medium or light. I suppose all you would have to do is back it against a building, so terrain placement would critical.

Yeah, i don't think that would be legal on any ones battle field. Apple is really high. It would obviously have IFA, probably ISA too. the rear  does sound like the only option, but if you cant hit the apple it doesn't really matter anyway does it. you would have to get above and behind.

I think it would be just as easy to call in coordinates to 8 inch and 155 batteries...show would be over in 2-3 rounds. Just knock out the bridges...no place to go.

The bigger and badder they are, the more stressed the components are that make them run. I love my JTs but they are trouble prone and very unreliable. God help me I do love to battle with them.

That is the entire concept here. To produce a tank that the Allied pip squeak tanks have no chance of stopping. Destroy and steamroll over the opposition.. Especially since the opposition is lead by EDoubleAZ

I picture Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the original Terminator movie, as he is annihilating all the officers in the police station. That is my vision of the Maus, instead of cops though, here we have the Allied Green Team tanks (again lead by EDouble).

I have to say, FF2608 brought up a key word here a few posts up, "propaganda".. It always helps to wage psychological war against your opponents.

Encirclement scenarios or any other clever tricks will be in vain. That is what the Streetsquid KT is for, gotta have a wing man. Could the Maus be victorious on its own at DAK? Could the Emperor have claimed victory without the assistance of Darth Vader? So many questions and so little time left before the battle..

There is one thing I over looked though.. I don't know if my car is going to be big enough to transport this Monster Mouse to the field lol My car might break down on the way over there from all the added weight. I now fully understand the German transportation problems regarding getting their heavy tanks to the battlefields.

Perhaps only a complete madman would build one of these things..
