RX18 + 480 size motors
Has anyone successfully run 480 size motors with the rx18 (obviously with a fan installed)? I'm thinking of giving it a go.

Yes...I was running it outside on a chilly day (high 60s where I live) and it ran fine in longer grass with metal tracks and 16 oz of lead weight added to the front. It went up and down some steep hills without any problems.
Only issue I had was that the tracks kept slipping off the sprockets. But, that's because they're too loose. I need to fabricate an idler adjuster because they're too long as they are, but removing a link makes them too short to fit.
Did you already buy the 480s? There are a couple of options CONUS.

RE: RX18 + 480 size motors
Great, thats good news. I was thinking of getting the permax motors as I alredy have the 400 size ones installed which work great but I want more speed as its an abrams. It has stock metal gearboxes but may get 3:1's in the future with larger pinions because I would like more torque as well. At least I know I can give these motors a try now. Thanks
