Alternative Smoke Unit Liquids?
Hi again everyone,
I noticed that the smoke produced by the smoke unit in my HL Tiger isn't really that visible/isn't that much. Now, I don't want to mod the smoke unit because i'll probably break the whole tank! But is there any other liquids I can use in the smoke unit which will make it produce more smoke?

RE: Alternative Smoke Unit Liquids?
i used electronic cigarettes for awhile and one thing a friend showed me was how to cut the full strength 24mg nicotine e-juice with glycerin. it was safe to inhale and also gave the electronic cigarette more vapor production. the electronic cigarettes use a similar setup which is an atomizer that gets hot and vaporizes the liquid. i dont use my smoker and have actually removed it from my tank. but i would think that the glycerin i used would probably work pretty well with the tanks smokers. the only issue is that it is pretty thick and would need to be diluted with something to thin it out so that it flows into the smoker without causing a blockage. perhaps i will connect my smoker to a power source and give it a try with the glycerin. it might just work.

RE: Alternative Smoke Unit Liquids?
Do a search for smoke units or fog fluids etc. there are numerous concoctions (sp) that people have come up with to produce more smoke or more visible smoke or different colored smoke. Be wary of dangers of flammable stuff. I have heard the 2 stroke oil works pretty good but stinks, better for outside running.
RCTankwars is now selling an aftermarket smoke unit that is suppose to work very well, last up to an hour, and is adjustable for more or less smoke according to your wants. I have two on order and on the way. DanL has a video of one in his King Tiger, and looks great!
Good luck.

You might want to try the smoker fluid from the German Seuthe Rairoad smoker. I use these devices in two of my battlefield casualities and they work well. Next is to get a high volumer smoker from Phil. None of my tanks have smoking exhaust as it is very unrealistic, but as a tank that has been hit, (outside of smoke color) it is effective.

I'll give it a try. I also found a thread suggesting to replace the big lump of cotton wrapped around the heating element with a smaller piece of fiberglass insulation, so i'll give that a try aswell. And can someone tell me who this mysterious Phil is? (Sorry, i'm new to this forum and this hobby!)

patton, is there a way to have the smoker connected with the IR battlesystem so that when a tank is crippled it turns on the smoker causing it to smoke as if it was destroyed?

The smoker is activated by a micro switch. When I traverse the turret one switch activates the smoker and a second one triggers some blinking lights.
