Congrats man! Good choice as this is a great tank. It runs great over all terrain.
It too was my first and I have stayed true to it ever since I got it. Im constantly updating and upgrading it bit by bit. Always a pleasure.

It was my first too Mike. Dont worry about the smoke I dont think any of them ever worked, most of us justtossed it away, and made room for other stuff. Its a fun tank and it looks good, have fun wit it and keep up grading it.

Real tanks don't smoke either.

Okay. Anyone who bought a brand new HL tank who's smoker didn't work at all or only lasted 10 minutes, raise your hand now.......
Geeez, I looks like a revival meeting out there. Okay, put your hands down before your laptop falls and takes off a toe.[&o]
PS The smoking tanks (mainly not HL smoke units) at the Extravaganza did look very cool. I wish we could rig them to smoke profusely when knocked out.[X(]

Congrats on the M41 purchase
I love those little guys and the aggressive look they have.
If you really want a smoker there are some pretty decent ones on the market and scratch building one seems pretty straightforward. If you do a search here there is a good thread on changing the wick material in the HL units and getting them to work very well. I'm betting Phil at RC Tank Wars builds a good quality smoker for a decent price.

Smokers were the first things to be removed in my Tanks.
