Glenn:

Caption contest... " Pic #2 : But Hans (driver), the map says the Bierstube (beer tavern) is ahead to the left... " Shame on Gunter for failing to notice the sign on the building behind him, to the right rear of his Tiger. His crew never did get that free round on the Oberleutnant...

And I agree on the 'other teo figs' comment. [>:]

Mebbe my luck will return, and I'll be able to make it next month...

I enjoy doing figures although I'm not brilliant at them, I think they give a sense of scale to the models.
Heres a few that I've done,

An extra gun always adds tension to a situation, perhaps that's it. Think how much more real his lost look would be, with HER standing behind and above him in a picture. It would truly portray the desprate times of confusion and passion that the end of the war produced... If only their arms moved...

Gunters brother Hans, serves on the western front... he too gets lost a lot. What are they are smok'n in that pipe?

How well did you get the glue and paint stick to the resin? I used CA glue and Tamiya paints and had a hard time getting the glue to work. To this day, if he falls over he breaks in half. Hands are easy to bump off and one guy lost his head in a tumble. If they rub on anything the paint comes off and I have to fix it. That is part of the reason for the camo I picked, it's easy to fix.

Nice job on yours.

Thats because she would be saying; <span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255); ">"Why is it that men won't EVER just stop the tank and ask for directions ?" </span>

Looks like Hans is in Abt 502

I use the same paint and glue, I am new to this and there has not been a lot of wear and tear so I don't know about the paint, yet.

I thought the Loctite Supergel was doing well but he fell of the deck of the Panther G this morning an lost his head oveer it<br type="_moz" />

Yes, Abt 502. So if he is on the western front, he is lost. I do not beleve they were on the western front at any time in the war. I could be wrong.

It seems that Hans was being sent to Belarus with this refitted replacement Tiger I. It is # 111 returned from Lenningrad with transmission troubles last fall and now fixed, repainted and fit for combat. Too bad that Hans was last seen heading west from Berlin.<br type="_moz" />

Nice...lots of great, clean detailing. Figures do add a lot and take more time that detailing a tank. I still like my IDF girl crews.

easy to add helmets. combet boots and OD "uniforms", Always draws nice, humorous comments.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyvoH...eature=related Here's the real thing.

A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT THE MOTORHEAD FIGURES. THEY ARE CERAMIC AND TEND TO BREAK IF DROPPED. THEY ARE WELL MADE AND PAINT WELL, BUT STILL BEST TO FASTEN THEM TO THE TANK ON DISPLAY.

Guys:

Another source for figs that are 'close' to the same scale, and yea, I KNOIW I've posted it before, but this is THE guy who made Oddball from "Kellys Heroes" and Sgt. Guffy from " Battle of the Bulge "... Jimmy Flintstone. He also makes many other movie figs, like the Rocketeer, and his " kissin' kuzin " the Rocketease. And then there is the fat Elvis-like Burger King, and others (many seen on eBay w/o credit to him)

And he is a GREAT guy to deal with. Last time I ordered, there was a glitch, and he made up for it in ~spades~. Sent me my fig, plus a whack of extras. He is A+ to deal with, and apart from that slight glitch, never been a problem to deal with.

You can buy his stuff [link=http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php]HERE[/link], or for his raunchier figs, his moniker is Dr. Flintbone.

Direct links:
[link=http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=126]Oddball[/link]
[link=http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=102]Sgt. Guffy[/link]
[link=http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=107]Col. Klink[/link]
[link=http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=108]Sgt. Schultz[/link]

Just pay sttention to the scale, eh? 120mm is a bit tall in 1/16 (1.92m or 6' 3.6") but my Guffy fig is more like 1/16. the 1/18 ~may~ be a tad small, but the commercial Joes are roughly 1/18.

Just remember, take any measurement im mm, and multiply x 16 for 1:1 height, but any scale 1/?? multiplys up. (100mm would make the fig 1m 60cm or 5' 3" tall, but a 1/18 at 4" tall would be 72" aka 6') Easiest Q to ask is: how tall is the fig if standing. 4.5" should be right for 1/16 (6 ft) but a bit smaller is ok - tankers tended to be the smaller ones - Schultz would never have fit thru the hatch, and Klink would constantly be banging his head.

As for the figs, and glueing/ painting the resin - I've found that inserting pins into the joints (drill a small hole ~slowly~, resin slags like styrene) and THEN use glue. And BTW: MEK DOES work on resin. And you can melt some of the flash-shavings in a glass bottle with MEK for putty! Figured that trick out workin on my JF figs. As for paint, go to a hobby shop and get the base coat they sell for the plastic & lead figs for W40k and other figs. It works a treat on resin. I'm also told the flat Rustoleum is a decent paint, NOT the primers. Then just use the others over top - the matt hobby-fig stuff is best, givesd a faint texture for the other paint to grab onto. Swore by it when I had my BalttleTech minis.
