Awesome Hobbies update!

well here it goes...got my tank the other day..hmm. I'll try to keep it short and sweet:
pros: 1.) excellent body kit(fitstogethervery clean)
2.)based on aJagdpanther chassis
3.) good packing
4.)metal tracks and other accessories(tools,boxes,barrel,etc.)
5.) led/metal machine gun and barrel flash unit
cons:1.) EVERYTHING glued together with some kind of "composite glue' that looks and feels like a glue-gun in consistency..... which didn't hold and caused everything to fall apart in shipping
2.) metal sprockets are incorrectones as they are for a Pantiger and don't quite fit the Jagdpanther metal tracks(Teeth are too far apart)....you can see where he filed down about half the teeth to make it kind of fit unless you turn the sprocket, then it just jumps the tracks.
3.) plastic idlers(I was told they were metal)
4.) suspension springs completely dead and won't come back up(not sure if this is common with Jag's)
5.) wire soldering was very bad as he melted off a couple of copper solder pads from the boards due to overheating and a couple were broken off in shipping due to tension.
6.) every nut and screw was loose(not a big deal)...also a few missing screws here and there
7.) paint was suppose to be a german style gray, but is actually almost black in color and has a ton of dust and other crud in it.
8.) he melted the mantlet to fit the hull(clever idea, and did ok job), but still needs a little heatgunwork and some sanding to get it looking better(never sanded and just left the bubbles in it)
conclusion: It's not very good...Warwick is a very nice guy and even with some serious health problems going on he emailed me back and offered a 2/3 refund..which I think is very fair as I will have to spend some money and time to rebuild it(get ready Phil lol). I do think the body kit is extremely nice and would have no problem ordering parts from him in the future(the onesI can't get anywhere else), but based on this example I don't think I would purchase another built tank. Had I known I just would have had him putall the parts in a box soI could do a clean build...but it is what it is andI had to have this tank and I got it so in the end I'm not really bummed...Seems surprising as he has some really nice builds he's selling on his website that I would be proud to owne..maybe it's just this body kit he has problems with..who knows..

Oh and I wouldn't get to exited about the "other good looking builds" as we <div>know how he mis represents many other things in pictures on his site.</div>

The more I look at this thing the better it gets Yes that is a PanTiger hull and a very old one too boot. It does not even have the metal internal reinforcing plates for the suspension and no they probably wont come back to correct.<div> And yes the IS the proper color for Panzer Grey, too bad it is a semi gloss he used.</div>

I am totally confused. Am I not loading all the pictures? All I see is a pile of parts. Was it assembled when you got it? And that clearly looks like a Jagdpanther lower hull, not a Pantiger. Too bad it ended up like this and I struggle not asking what you paid. I won't. Sorry buddy.
From what I understand that is a kit that is available.
hmmmmm

DirtyBird69,
All the breaks are clean and you can clean off the glue as well. Tracks look great too. I say order a set of replacement metal drive sprockets and idlers and you will have your dream tank. I know it sucks that it fell apart, but we have the technology to make it better than it was!!! I know, sorta Six Million Dollar Man sounding, but true. We thank you for taking one for the team so we will know what to do in the future!!!!! [&:] [8D]
Oh and this is a Panther lower hull. Just look at the final drive cover in the photo of the filed off drive sprocket. That is not on a PanTiger.

Those aren't Pantiger sprockets either. The pantiger lower hull is the same as the Tiger, thus it's name. Those are Jagd/Panther sprockets, it's the tracks that are different, not the sprockets.

yeah, he does sell a kit for like $110 (excellent kit and I highly reccomend it)..The kit appears to made out of fairly thick plasticard 4-5mm. I think If I use a good plastic epoxy and pre-sand the mating areas that it will get much better adhesion then as is. Sprockets&idlers, heavy duty springs,2.0's,and track tensionerswill be the first order of buisiness,,then it will get the full elmod treatment, plus a custom paint job. only took about 4 hours to peel out all the gooey clue crud that was everywhere. yeah it was supoose to be fully assembled but when i got it parts where everywhere..fortunately it was all glue joints so will be easy to rebuild(nothing busted). he did a great packing job, it was just the glue-job that killed it.

Trust me Perry they are Pantiger sprockets, they were available for a short time along with metal wheels(painted tires)back in the day. But they(tankzone)just came out with similar wheels for the Panther G/Jagdpanther chassis that even have bearings..they look almost exactly the same as the old versionsexcept that they fit thethe different series tracks, which is why the old versions won't fit the newer style tracks..

ahhhhh. I am enlightened.
Pantiger upgrade wheels. I follow now. I thought people were referring to the stock Pantiger sprockets. This new tank of yours is a conundrum.

I think Warwick just had some laying around the shop and just tried to make em work...they're close but not quite! It's basically a Jagdpanther with Pantiger "Panther" sprockets and a body kit that uses the top, engine cover, and gun/mantletsections of the Jagdpanther body.

Just a note...the more I think about it the less I feel like getting into another big project, and as much as I like it I think I might consider selling it to somebody that has the energy lol...I was thinking around $150(shipped)...USA only please.....all the pieces are there I just took it apart and cleaned all the old glue off.Just needs a little dremeling and sanding to clean up a few rough edges then you can glue it all back together..PM me if interested...</p>
