M50 sherman, progressing
#3
Looking good Mario....with all the work goes into the back deck alone, that Gannon book is a real blessing.
Tomh..."still working" also refers to "progressing", "improvements" or "further additions". What about "Continuation on a previously posted M-50 conversion." Mario is showing step by step modelling which requires a lot of scratch building....something many of us fail to consider while doing such conversions.

I know but it's much easier to follow if he just makes updates in one thread rather than starting one everytime there's an update. Still very much enjoying the build!

I have to agree with Tom, and it's certainly no knock on Mario. I enjoy looking at his work very much.
But, we need to be Internet savvy here and keep things tidy. There's enough senseless and useless threads being created here that making multiple threads about the same build is not needed PLUS it's much better to see the progress with all the pictures on one thread.

You should probably stop making new topics when you have an update........

Be calm. You looks very worried about the forum administration, you are right, however is better to post in the wrong way than nothing. I see a lot of people here very worried for other posts and never open an own.
Sorry!!! I'm new at forums LOL LOL LOL... just enjoy the picture, I spent some time to take it and upload it here.

My Feedback: (1)
I started with Testors SAC BOMBER TAN. I like the color as a base coat for all things Israeli. I then painted Testor's IDF Grey in a modulation pattern. I weathered with brown and black acrylic washes and ran it around outside.
My M51 represents a near retirement variant with a late style paint job. They served into the 90's.
Hindsight, it should be a little darker.

I have made some progress. Adding details and gluing the engine deck.
I have been presenting some parts on the hull sides, the sensible stage comes now when I will have to glue those parts in a definitive place. Note that still need to make the exhaust for the auxiliary generator which will be placed below the IDF cans.

Just to have an idea what they will look together. Side by side with one of my M51
I want to paint this green, I don't know why but after looking a picture of a M51 green, I want the M50 green. The problem is that the Mk1 (VVSS) were green (until 1960) and although I suspect some M50 Mk 2 ( HVSS) was green, I don't have any picture to support that livery.... anyway I think would look terrific with a OD burned.

Hi friends
I'm going slowly, I was little busy, but here more pictures.
I have decided to change the Tamiya transmission cover in favor the Nick’s one, is better for the version I'm doing.
I was intensively reading the Lioness & lions book and I'm surprised about how many differents M50 there was. One can count 3 or 4 M51 versions, but M50... my god, they used each sherman chassis/suspension available.
