Default Tactic TTX404 4-Channel SLT 2.4GHz Radio System?

I want to take a 2.4GHz radio to Danville, but what to buy?

I have only FUTABA experience as Tower Hobbies has them http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXXMV6&P=ML for 99 bucks, and then another 50 for additional receivers.

BUT! The Tactic TTX404 4-Channel SLT 2.4GHz Radio System is only 69 dollars http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...YWM9&P=ML#tech and the receiver only an additional 20 bucks. Much more affordable for a trip that requires a better radio system.

Anyone use these and are they dependable enough or should I stick with the FUTABA? [] That's about a 60 dollar savings on the radio system and 1 additional receiver.

They are nice radios. I had a 6 channel but I ended up selling mine because I could never figure out how to get the main cannon and MG to work on a reliable basis on my Tamiya KT.

I've used Tactics on Tamiya tanks.  They seem to be plentiful on the used market, as they usually come with RTF airplanes, and are the first item to be sold off (usually, the owner has a radio already).

If you plan to use the left stick as a throttle, make sure you install a self center cam and spring.

I like the fact that they have no antenna to break.
