Hey guys. I received a PM from a member that told me the "New Poll" button was missing from the RC Tanks Forum. However, when I go to the Tank Forum the botton is there, which can be evidenced by me creating this poll. So I thought I would create a poll to make sure that it is working properly.
As something to do a test poll please answer the question below and tell me if you can see the "New Poll" button in the RC Tank Forum. This will give me a better idea of what's going on so that I can see if it's an issue for a lot of members, of if it's isolated to just a few members.
Thanks for helping me out here.

Ken,
I can see the poll button on your post, and voted that I could, but I am not sure my "Yes" vote is correct as I can not see where you chose to create a "Poll" button?

<span style="font-family: Arial;">I am talking about on the page where the RC Tanks forum is listed out. At the top of the listings for the forum you should see two buttons, one that says "New Post" and next to it a button that says "New Poll". See my attached screenshot to see what I am referring to.</span><div style="font-family: Arial;"></div><div style="font-family: Arial;">Ken</div>

I see the "New Poll" button on many other forum sections here on RCU, but I do not see the same button on the RC Tank sub-forum.
It seems it may be a forum "Permissions" issue, where the RC Tank forum was not set up for general members to see the button & post polls. Moderators & admins will most likely have the privileged set up so they can see them & post polls.

Sorry, same picture in both attachments & can't seem to delete one of them now when editing the post ... boy, I hate the image attachment feature here so much
, I'll stick to using MediaFire & attaching images to posts.

It should be fairly simple to test if making a new poll works for a member, because the link code is the same across the forums. For instance below is the button's link code for creating a new poll under the "RC Combat" forum. If I click on the link it opens up a new page allowing me to create & post a new poll under the "RC Combat" forum with forumid "94".
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/post...amp;forumid=94
If I just change the "forumid" in the above link to another forum where I can also see the "New Poll" button showing onscreen beside the "New Post" button, like the "RC Humor" forum which uses "177", it opens up a new page allowing me to create a new poll under that forum instead.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/post...mp;forumid=177
Now, if I change the link's forumid to be that of the "RC Tank" forum, "369",
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/post...mp;forumid=369
I get an error screen telling me this:
<div style="margin-left: 40px; text-align: left;">"Post New Poll<font color="ffffff">Post New Poll </font><font color="ffffff">Post New Poll </font></div><div style="margin-left: 40px;">Either the feature is disabled, or you do not have sufficient permission.
If you are trying to post a new thread or reply you must be registered and logged in to do so.
Please go to the signup/login page here"</div>
The attached image below shows how I see the RCTank subforum, with a "New Post" button, but without any "New Poll" button where it should be located.

That is why I asked to be sure, and as they say your picture/screen shot sas a thousand words. When I am logged into the RC Tank Forum all I sse is the option/button to create "New Post". I do not have the option/button for "New Polls". So my "Yes" vote should have been a "No".
Thanks Ken for the screen shot,
Rudy

Ok, I see the problem now. This is why I ask, because as an Admin I don't have any limitations. Anyway, somehow the setting for members to be able to create polls had been turned off. Sometimes the RCU system gets a mind of it's own and things like this happen. Anyway, I have reset the setting and now you all should be able to see the "New Poll" button, and thus you all will be able to create polls now.
