Default Tamiya mf-07 (Super Sherman multi function unit)

Hey folks Im looking to swap out the mf unit in the m51 I'm building to give me recoil. My question is what engine is the mf-07 from the super Sherman based on? Some people have said the kv-1 mf is a better sound match but want to get some other opinions before I dive in and buy one.

Personally I would use the DMD Control Unit (T-08) and DMD Multi-Function Unit (MF-07) in the Super Sherman. It's what I am using in my Sherman III (M4A2).

I cannot tell what sound they are using... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKbJNNF02xE ... and cannot find anywhere what it's listed as.

I've already got the dmd/mf from the 105mm Sherman howitzer so I can just keep the dmd as they're all pretty much the same. Basically the only detail I really need is if the super sherm sound is a diesel or petrol engine. I'm not too fussed if it's the correct cummins diesel but I want it to sound vaguely correct!

Hey Maus, funnily enough I came across this earlier. Sadly it doesn't give details of the supersherman mfu!

The IDF Super sounds like a regular M4...NOT diesel, as it should.

you should use the MFU from the Pershing. that has the recoil and uses the sound of the Ford GAA gasoline engine V8. The Super Sherman is not a diesel so the KV-1 would be incorrect as that is a diesel engine.

Some of the early m50s had a continental diesel engine but all the m51s had a cummins diesel.

Unfortunately the shound for the mf-07 sholud belong to the Cummins engine, but still they used the radial M4 engine sound.

That is actually the T-07 DMD which uses no separate MF unit. It does have a remote main gun flash strobe power supply instead. The T-07 is also very large and has switches for its many light functions.

Kv-1 MFU will give you a functional brake light as well as recoil.
