Does anyone know where the Aberdeen Tiger 712 is presently located? The last I heard a year ago or more
it was in England being prepared to be shipped to the US. It was to go back to Aberdeen PG to be restored
with the help of Mr Wheatfield. Since he is no longer with us, and Aberdeen's armor vehicles now scattered
at various posts, where and what happened to Tiger 712 ? Anyone have the latest information?

The Tiger is currently at Ft. Benning. The army is moving all of there museum tank collection to Benning for restoration and for a new indoor museum. Most of the tanks from the patton museum and APG are there in storage in hangers or are being restored at the moment. A buddy of mine who lives near there always stops by to take pics for me and the tiger is disassembled in the one hanger. The T28 is also there and it too has it's side skirts off.
He posted his pics on his facebook page.

The public will not see APG tanks anymore or anywhere.
Imagine the last scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".
The artifact gets wheeled into a huge warehouse........never to be seen again. What a shame!

here is the Tiger's turret, the rest is in pieces in the same shop

The tanks will be back on public display once the new building is completed, until then they are in storage. However from what I was told they are not too difficult to get access to if you know where they are. The last time my buddy was there there was a photographer from an unnamed model company who was taking detail pics and measurements of on of the M60s
Here are some other pics that were taken

And anyone who has been to APG or Fort Knox will recognize these pieces

The Liberty tank can also be found in storage.

And here is the T28 with side off

My Feedback: (1)
They really do look pretty glum don't they? For all the money we waste on certain 'programs' you'd think these sorts of irreplaceable
machines could have either found their way to proper funding or would have been adopted by a wealthy benefactor. What about
all the Hollyweird types who've profited from movies that were set in the times these things roamed about - where is their civic mindedness?
Armor just doesn't hold the public's attention like aircraft, never has and never will.
Lest I forget, thanks armorguy for posting the photos

Thanks Texchap, after going to the link, you provided, I think there is hope that we may be able to see these tanks publicly again.

@armorguy, maybe they are going to try and do better going forward? Snagged these off the NACM site of their restoration work on the APG Panther G. We can only hope!!!
