Question No forward or reverse?

Hey guys, just need a bit of advice, recently sold my ztz-99 to somebody who just received it and says everything works except for forward or reverse....everything worked fine before I shipped it so I'm a little baffled. It's basically stock with the exception of adding a deans connector and a "Komodo" ATRC circuit. I can also tell you that I had been running a Tenergy 5000mah NiMh pack/w deans (that I kept). l sent him the original battery and slow charger(which I have never used) along with all the original materilas that came with it. I'm suspecting the battery that came with the tank is garbage and he should get a peak charger and a quality battery pack to solve the problem...Any thoughts? Also just curious as to how long it takes for the OEM slow charger to charge the OEM battery(1700MAH), I have no clue as I never use them?....thanks

Should take about 4 hours to charge on the original charger. Will it still do a super spin?

I need to call him this afternoon, but based on emails apparently super-spin is working...only thing not is forward/reverse..to me it sounds like a battery/charge issue..it might be spinning on a hard floor but how fast I have no idea..will have more info this afternoon...

It may also be in the TX. If something got knocked around on that joystick it could do that. If he has other tanks I'd tell him to first try it on a different TX, or maybe with a different RX-18. That's a good way to narrow down the trouble spot.

And check the batteries in the TX as well.

And how could you sell the ZTZ-99? Us 99 owners are a pretty small club so I hate to lose a good member.

And try unplugging the Komodo. It's not likely (highly unlikely, in fact, but it's best to investigate all possibilities. Occam's Razor), but that could be the problem, as I see that unit still doesn't have the resistor in it.

IF it still superspins in both directions the RX18 is probably fine. I am not sure what other electronics might be in this, but in trouble shooting it is always best go back to the stock. Remove the aftermarket stuff, and get the tank working like a stock heng long. Then add back the other electronics one at a time
