Looks like an M5 cargo tractor built on a tamiya sherman chassis heavily modified.

I would not have gone with the HVSS but either modified the older VVSS or wait until the MATO M5 Stuart is available and used that instead. Nice work on the body of course but the tracks and suspension loose it for me.

I agree with you. The spacing between the small return roller and the road wheel suspension looks odd to me. I think the return roller from a Stuart would fix that up nicely.

I think his goal was to make it appear to be that of either the M5A1 or A3 but had he added another set of boggies and stretched the vehicle it would have looked closer to that of the M6 High Speed Tractor, just getting rid of the shock absorber/reservoirs. It still looks nice just a bit odd is all.

David Doyle and Pat Stansell's book on the High Speed Tractor is an excellent reference book on the history of them.
