Default Clark TK22 program issues

Has anyone had any issues with programing the Clark TK22? I have 3 of them and the remote, all are IR. Here is what it wont allow me to change. It gives no LED flash when trying to change the function.
I cant get all the functions to work with the remote. Ex.Mixer mode, invulnerability time, strength of firing tank gun hull recoil, reload sound on, off, ... I have new batteries in remote and freshly charged in tanks. Any Ideas??

Well forgive me for sounding a bit patronizing but troubleshooting always starts at the basics... have you used the jumper on the 2 correct pins (Servo recoil pins, 2 closest to the IR emitter port) while you turn the tanks power on? That enables programming mode.

See here

Once that is in the proper mode you need your IR sensor and LED indicator hooked up correctly. I use a Tamiya sensor so it all plugs in only one way into the 5-pin cable.

All the info you need is here, follow the procedure step by step, I use the same steps every time

Thanks Strato. Yes I have the jumper installed. I also use the Tamiya Battle Unit on all 3 tanks. Maybe I didnt make myself clear, I can program everything, on all 3 tanks, on all 3 TK22s with the jumper installed, EXCEPT Mixer mode, Speed Reduction in badly damaged state, Invulerability time, Reload sound on/off, and strength of firing tank gun hull recoil. Its like the remote does not send the right IR signal for those settings. All 3 tanks battle and work fine together, I would just really like to get rid of super steer and thats done in mixer mode which is the top left button on my remote. My remote came from Nathan at OKC. Its a Yinxiang RM-964, these are the remotes Clark sent him to sell with the TKs. What remote do you use? Thanks, shad

Ah yes, well it's just a matter of making sure exactly what's up. That's a weird issue and one I've not yet encountered or heard of.. you may be suspecting the right issue, that being the remote itself. I use the Sony that Clark has been selling for some time.

That mixer mode is the first thing I change, I really don't like how it works on a Clark.... full reverse all of a sudden during a turn? No thank you..

So all 3 of your boards will program except for those functions correct? Yea... suspecting the remote.

Yes strato, all will program except those functions. I will have to contact Nathan at OKC when he gets back. He has sold out of these remotes several times, thats why I thought I would ask if anyone else has had the issue. Thanks, Shad

Once again I guess the easiest troubleshooting was overlooked, BIG TIME. I checked the IR signal with a camera, and on the functions that I cant program, Im getting no IR light from the remote. So it is the remote. I talked to Nathan at OKC and he said he would gladly exchange it. I sure was dumb not to just check that in the first place,

If I had a dollar for every time this hobby has made me feel dumb I'd be Donald Freakin' Trump.

I have one that I bought from OKC that I'm supposed to send to someone. I couldn't get my TK-22 to program at all, so I better check it first. So Shorty54 are you using a video camera then pressing buttons on the remote to see if you see the IR flash?

If you have a phone with IR capability (most Android phone do) then download a universal TV remote app and with the new sony remote program save all the buttons and rename them to the functions they perform. This way you can always program on the fly if needed!

Yes, just using my camera on my cell phone. I can get all but 3 or 4 functions to calibrate, on those functions I see no IR light from remote.
Depending on what apple you use with the TK22, I know the Taigen one has to be rewired before it can be programed.

I just checked my remote from Nathan with the camera in my phone and it DOES light up for the surround button. Like you said, you just got a bad remote.

Gary, Try the top left button, MUTE, (MIXER MODE), my surround button works also, but that is "Firing Tank Gun Hull Recoil ON/OFF"
