Hi,
I have already finished my abrams tank with a TK60 Clark board.
Because the volume of the main gun and machine gun sounds is a little bit too low i decided to lower the engine sound level.
Increasing the volume of the gun sounds would lead to clipping.
I take audacity, import the bin files as raw data (8 bit, 22050 Hz). Then i can edit the parts, lower the level of some sounds and then i export it as an 8 bit raw file. But when i play the sounds from the tank after programming it intop the TK60 there is a very massive background noise.
When importing again my exported raw file the noise is also visible and hearable in audacity.
What am i doing wrong ? How can i edit the files without adding noise to it ?
Regards,
Olaf

Hi, Olaf. Sorry I can't answer your question for you, but your thread has raised a question you might be able to answer for me. I'm used to using the IBU boards, and with those they have the engine and gun sounds on two separate channels, so if you have the TPA amp you have separate volume control right there for engine and gun sounds. You can increase or decrease the volume for engine and guns independently, just by turning the appropriate knob. It sounds like the TK60 does not have such a feature? How many different speakers can you plug into a TK60? Do they offer an amp that might incorporate the two channel feature, like the TPA for the IBU? I've been considering giving the TK60 a try, so this will be a real factor for me. I've had great luck with the IBU so if the TK60 offers less options for sounds then maybe I won't try it after all. Thanks in advance for your help with this, Olaf. Anyone that helps me increase my RC education is Aces with me.

Hi Gary,
The TK60 has one binary sound file which contains all sounds.
I had an IBU2 for testing and the way you can manage the sounds is quite good, only topped by the ASP2 i assume.
The TK60 has one Connector for a speaker and you have to connect a potentiometer to a specific port to adjust the volume, so no software controlled volume.
I decided to go with the TK60 because it has really good sounds, especially the Abrams is way better than all others i listened to.

I still have some problems that sometimes there are some cracks when a sound ends and sometimes not although i did the same thing.
But after trying out for several hours i am finished now.

Yes, its like i wanted it now... And i am quite satisfied with the TK60.
There are some things which could be improved, but...
For example 2 soundsets which can be switched via radio, volume setting via radio channel and 20 KHz for the motor output signal so that you cant hear the motors at low revs.
