it's gonna be awesome. I can't wait either.

Thank you John for the compliment. The Abrams I helped build was a ChunWai model which needed a ton of Daryl's expert help as well. I believe the Tamiya will be a masterpiece. I have been toying with buying an HL version for about a year now because I really want an Abrams, but I never got around to pulling the trigger on it. Glad I waited. I just hope the price of this thing isn't insane.

Very nice I kind of do like the ideal of using the static kit as a base to how you want to build yours electronically use Tamiya electronics or something else I built my first KT that way .
Thanks
Jimmy

The pic pages wouldn't load but go to the Tamiya Japan link above and click on the pics below the M1A1 thumbnail. There are close ups of the track, suspension, barrel and tub.

Looks awesome and the RC version will be really cool I think. I bet you could adapt the Leopard system to the M1 model if you had to.

Given the many T90's and T72's out there, mine will be the classic Nato camo pattern as it will be blocking any communist incursions through the Fulda Gap.

It looks like the tub is ready for transmissions. Wonder what kind of rotation ring the turret will have?
im womdering if just buying the static kit would be worthwhile to build with an aftermarket MF system... Ibu, clark, open panzer etc....

if anybody buys the static kit im interested in seeing photos of all the trees and instructions to determine if one of the other tamiya tank rotation rings amd stay bracket are used.
Lookin grest cant wait to see them on the field.

Sorry if you have seen this, I just want to add the picture of the lower hull so you could have a somewhat better look.
Torsion bar installation is quite different from Leo2A6. Interesting. Really looking forward to R/C version's release.

I doubt the tracks are metal from tamiya. Even so, they may work just fine as is.
The tank certainly looks to be rc capable from the pictures. I have been waiting a long time for a good abrams to buy. This is the one.
