T14?

I presume you mean the Armata system. T-14 is in serial production, 200 units a year (probably more but that's the official number), but to the best of my knowledge it has not been issued to serving units at this time. On the other hand, Mother is not in the habit of releasing informations about a new system until it is issued to the troops and publicly viewed, witness 4 Dry 57 suddenly appearing in Hmeymim when supposedly it is still experimental.

Guts !!!!
Thanks for your posting --- I have been trying to think of something different to scratch build with my spare parts and junk box items and your post has me all fired up to make an experimental AFV (that never was) --- just for the fun of it. I like the turret on the T14 and the skirts are cool.

I highly doubt anyone will mass produce that T-14 and like Bob said, that system first has to pass all the government acceptance tests and THEN become operational to even get noticed as a possible candidate for an RC model. In the meantime I would just use the T-72B3 to go up against the Abrams.

Or do what others suggest (and what Hollywood does) and alter a running tank to look like the T-14. Like... take HL's ZTZ-99 and add sheeting to it to look similar to that prototype.

Why not use a HL T90? The HL T90 is an excellent R/C tank to "go up against" your Abrams or other modern western tank. It is more probable a variant of the T90 will run into an Abrams, Challenger or Leopard in the real world than a T14 anytime soon.

Thanks fellows, all good ideas. I guess I could just gang up on the Abrams with my T90, and my ZTZ99, but I don't think they would stand much of a chance.
I have read a couple of reports that state the T14(can I call it that?)is a very good weapons system, even better than our Abrams. What do we have in the works for replacing the Abrams, or are tanks going to be obsolete?

I mentioned earlier in this thread that Armata tank is in serial production, in excess of 200 units a year. The variants I don't know. This means that while Mother might not have said anything, I would bet that the tanks are being issued to crack units first. 1st Guards comes to mind.

What do we have in the works for replacing the Abrams, or are tanks going to be obsolete? The T14 theory of design with the crew placed entirely in the hull has been experimented with by a few NATO countries U.S., U.K. and Germany, all have found it to be a dead end for various reasons on a MBT.
I think the real fear of the T14 is that it reportedly has reached technical equality with western tanks. Something us western powers have not had to address in 30 or so years since the Abrams, Challenger 1 and Leoprad 2 came into service.
