Default Clark TK24SP Sbus servo issues.

I have a Taigen Tank that I installed a TK24SP (Sbus) Board. I am having an issue with both the servo recoil and elevation on the board. I soldered the two wires together per diagram and instructions to get the elevation to work.

When both servo recoil and elevation are plugged in to J2 and J4 they both work for a short time and then stop working. The elevation goes to full up and recoil stops working. I have to turn off the tank and then back on again for it to work for a short time.

However, when only one of them are plugged in they work all the time.

Any suggestions on what is wrong?

i have already tried new wires and reset the Clark board to default settings, even tried things with a servo not installed in the tank and tried another Clark TK24SP card I got same time as card with issues. Same problem occurs.

Better was charged and been conditioned recently.

I would check the current draw of the servos. It may be too much for the Clark board and causing a brownout. If you can use them both directly off the board before connecting to your linkages but afterwards it doesn't work then there is a chance it is pulling too much current. You can try using a dedicated BEC or smaller servos and see if this fixes the issue. What servos are you using?

Servos are Emax ES08MAII Analog Servos. They are the ones that Clark specifically uses. When only one is plugged in works perfect, but when both are plugged in they both work for a short time then the elevation servo goes to full elevation and the recoil servo stops working.

When they are not connected to the linkages, specifically the elevation servo twitches randomly with no inputs from the radio.

i do not know what a BEC is?

These are the ones I used before. I see they say discontinued??? Maybe they make an alternative.
I know you said you checked and charged the battery, but maybe try a different one, if you have one.
I have seen batteries that seem to charge up, but have very little power (amps), more like a surface charge
and die out quickly.

Hi Shad, I tried three different batteries I just conditioned yesterday morning and even unplugged everything from the board except for power, receiver and servos. I even disengaged the servos from the gears.

If only one servo is plugged in that one works 100% of the time for 20-30 minutes of playing with radio controls for it. When I plug in both they work for about 5-10 recoil cycles and then the elevation servo starts twitching with out any inputs. then it goes to fully engaged which would put the cannon in full up elevation and recoil stops working at same time.

I have some video, but not sure how to make it small enough for upload.

emailing back and forth, so far only suggestion is to ship them the servos and board for testing. I would like to send them the whole turret assembly to see it stop working together.

It sounds like that may be your only choice, send it to him for repair.
I dont know much about how all the components work, but it seems like a loss of power somehow.
I heard Clark was good about repairs.

You could try calling Nathan at RC TANKS OF OKC - About us - oklahoma city, OK
They are the US distributor for Clark.

I am not sure where you are located??

I am in Los Angeles and know Nathan he does not deal with Sbus boards. Got mine from Sollie in Norway. I just received the board less than 2 weeks ago.

I would guess you have already been in contact with Sollie?
It sounds like it might have to be sent back...?

FYI, I think I've got a work around for easy elevation on a TK 22. I haven't tried it yet, but...Ask me at the next battle and I'll explain.
