Default A question for the Classified Section

Hello

I was wondering, what happens when you can No longer see your post for items you have for sale? Have they been deleted so you have to re enter them OR can you find them and bring them back to current listings, I guess like repeat them?

I would really like to know.
Thanks
George

I'm pretty sure the entire classified section got wiped the last time they did a software change. I had stuff posted on classifieds that I can no longer get to no matter what I try. I tried going to my profile page and searching my started threads and the things I had in classifieds showed up there but when I clicked on those threads it went to the classified page and there was nothing there. If you still have stuff for sale I would repost it in classifieds. Hope that helps.

It clears things up but does not help for the fact that I have to retype and enter the proper pictures again. Not sure it is worth it?

Hi Airbrushler

Good to hear from you again. We talked a while back. I have at least 5 things for now BUT I am not sure if it is allowed to list them here. But I have them on another site in our part of the country. Have a look and PM, let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
George

Unfortunately the only time admins visit is to lay down the ban hammer. Ignore them, PM or message who you wish.

Sorry, did you say "ignore them" towards the admins?

Not a course I would recommend.

Buying and selling should take place in the Marketplace or PM's but for sure, not in the discussion forums.

SELLING:
All selling takes place in the RCU Marketplace which provides for free listings to non-commercial members for BOTH classifieds OR auctions. We have tools and features in our marketplace that no discussion forum can compare to. These tools help you to trade safely and more efficiently. So please use only the Marketplace to do your buying, selling and trading.

No auction or for sale posts in the forums please. No asking for bids or words that would lead the buyer to assume you are having an auction or classified ad. No discussion forum threads or posts linking to any classified or auction ads unless the information answers a question being discussed or questions the value or condition of the product and it is not yours or an acquaintance's. If you have an item for sale or auction elsewhere and are bound by their contract to fulfill the terms, please do not post the same item for sale at RCU. Raffles are only allowed with written permission from RCU management.

Want ads are available in the Marketplace. However, you may post for help locating something in the forums. Any mention of "will trade" or a product you have to offer in exchange for the item wanted is not allowed. The want ad should only request what you are looking for and we expect users to respond with replies that they either have the item or where the member might find it or get it. The poster should expect to pay cash (not trade) for the item expected unless those who reply offer it to the member for free, which is also acceptable.

If the marketplace wasn't a total failure then people wouldn't have to resort to using the discussion forums. I think we can all agree the marketplace needs work. I'm not sure why you guys decided to change it to an uncommon and difficult to work with platform.

We agree that that marketplace needs work.

"you guys" didn't decide, the owners did, I'm just a volunteer moderator.

The following answer isn't an official answer from Internet Brands, its my best guess based on 20 years in the software industry. My guess is the software was unable to be updated to meet current security standards or would have cost a prohibitive amount to do so. As I understand it, the board was custom coded and whomever did the coding was long gone so they went with a canned solution.

I appreciate the honest answer, this explains a lot of things actually. Is there any plan to do something with it? As of now I can't see anyone using it in it's current form in this section of the forums.

They are following feed back and making changes as they can. I'm pretty confident it will get better.
