Standard HL plastic Abrams tracks, with hollow backs. And 320 individual track pads.

How is that supposed to work out? Are you supposed to change the pads?

I think so. Believe I'm going to cheat a bit and use metal Abrams tracks with rubber pads.

The mantlet looks fairly odd, but when the cover gets added, I guess you won't notice.

The printing is very good. Smooth, no sanding really needed, which is great, considering almost all the detail is already on the hull. The only parts that you can really tell are printed are all internal.

Nice. Just discovered they include a ring, gear, and servo for cupola rotation.

Do you think they would tell you what brand and model number of printer they use?

Nice. They send it express, so it should be there quick.

Well, Im back home, I got sent home early cause I got walking pneumonia. Been a rough week.
Any way, opened my kit and was looking it over this afternoon when a package from carson arrived with some stand offs and screws. Kinda a weird think to happen. I assume it somehow didn't get packed in my kit but I haven't figured out what it was for.
So far, Im really hoping they are going to make instructions as I have no idea how to assemble the suspension. A lot of the baggies of parts shipped inside the hull got holes with parts floating around.

First, I am blown away by the printed turret and hull, its absolutely amazing.
But, for what the kit cost me, I kind of expected his own highgrade parts. Like his rubber pad abrams tracks. Not plastic HL tracks with 3d printed glue on pads that will wear off to white instantly, what a stupid idea, really....
And plastic HL abrams sprocket and pershing wheels? Ugh, I feel like I need to dump another 200 bucks into this kit to get the drive components to quality level of the rest of the tank. A real bummer to fell this way... sigh.
Then I would have expected his highspeed rotation box not a HL one.
All in all, it is a beautiful kit but over priced unless you just really have to have a m60a3. The sad thing is I still need to replace the cheap **** with quality metal parts for the quality of the tank just like when you upgrade a henglong.

Looking over the pictures I tend to agree. A lot of plastic for what you are paying. I appreciate the effort and if I had the money would buy one anyway as I have always wanted a M60, but like you I would be bracing it with aluminum and replacing many plastic suspension parts with metal. I look forward to seeing your build.

So far I am ordering metal sprockets, Metal pershing wheels with bearings, and taigen trannys. I do not like the Mato ones they included because they are geared so low. 69:1
I Plan to buy the dklm high speed rotation box and possibly metal tracks with rubber pads.

The dklm propulsion dynamics gearbox would be a really good bet in this.

I have no intest in that thing for two reasons, an IBU cant drive it, and it turns the wrong way when you reverse just like tsmiya modern tsnks with the similar drive.

I thought it was supposed to come with those gearboxes. When they first started advertising they said that a large part of the price was the gear boxes from dklm, so if they're using Mato gearboxes how come they're still charging as much? Another one of life's little Mysteries.

They did drop the price by 200 bucks. But I elected not to upgrade to the crossdrive tranny. They threw in a servo drive for the commanders coupola to make up for it for me.
