Very cool. I just started a tanker truck project with the tanker kit and after looking at it I'm thinking I can get another tanker kit and take one of these spare truck frames I have and then I'll have a tanker truck pulling a trailer that is also a tanker.

I think Gary needs to go sit down for a minute, he's having too much fun.

I got my CCKW running. Now I just need to hook up the lights and add a sound card.

Looks like you could use a little longer arm on the steering servo?
Can't wait to see this up at Tankland

Here is a 3d design that I did for my modern tanks. Gary printed it for me. The handles were designed to be separate parts but were too small to print so I redesigned them to have the handles molded onto the surface. This is the first prototype. I figure that having an ice chest with the handles torn off riding on a tank is possible. I call it the IGGOO.

That looks just great, Greg. Do you think it would have been easier if I had had white filament? Did you use a primer on that black before you painted the red and white?

Thanks.

Yes, a white base would make it better. I did not do any base coat on the first one. I just painted it red and white. The next one I put some handles on, T-34/85 turret tie downs, and it will get a white base coat, then a blue or green.

Here is the other one with the T-34/85 handles in white.

I added some eye candy to the CCKW bumpers. The hitch is metal, through bolted to the bumper, and works like a real one. I still need to paint the hitch bolts, I put a drop of CA glue on the threads so the hitch stays on tight. The hook is metal, but the spool does not turn so it's just for looks. I picked up a good co-driver too.

I just found them a couple of weeks ago. I almost ordered two, one for me and one for you, but I did not know how "scale" it would look on the CCKW's so I got one set to check them out.

Hitch and hook links...

Now I'm building a 3d printed trailer for the CCKW to tow. It needed tail lights so I made up a wiring harness for it out of spare parts from the parts bin. I made up a plug and outlet system so the trailer lights will be powered from the CCKW. The power supply for the trailer lights in the truck is switched and has a dimmer so I can tune the trailer lights to match the truck tail lights. It's not done yet, but I tested the system and it works. Just need to make up the tail light housings and mounts.
