Barrel Paint
#2

Metal Barrel?
This applies to all metal parts on a Tank that is to be painted.,
Give the Metal part you intend painting a very good clean with Acrylic (Isopropyl) Thinners then paint the metal with Etching Primer,
Paint over the etching primer with a thinned Acrylic primer/undercoat and finish with a thinned Acrylic topcoat,
Enamel paint is fine as long as you use Cellulose Thinners instead,
I prefer Acrylic because it is water soluble and Enamel needs to be thinned to all getup to prevent it drying too thickly,
Don't forget the real gun on recoil will strip the underlying paint off through its usual day to day firing.
Any part of your Tank that needs masking can usually be done using "Low Tac" paper instead of "Masking Tape",
Low Tac is very much easier to remove once the paint has dried and is less prone to peeling off the surrounding paint when you remove it.
