Thank you for all thw feedback. As stated previously the platform will be the ripsaw design so i was hoping on cutting the weight by not going the heavy tank route. To be more precise it will be as light as possible.

On the topic of battery weight vs run time i do understand that this can be a issue, only sollution i can see to this is disregard runtime. Build a proper chassis as lightweight as possible without risking quality (lighter materials such as alluminium and/or carbon fibre where possible.
Runtime will then be calculated at the different speeds and then as a last option i might tweak the gear ratio and hope for a pretty decent speed without too many losses.

I will start posting pictures as soon as i hit the 10 posts mark to give everyone an idea of what im planning.

For now i will ignore max runtime and max speed since those two are proportionally indirect and can be adjusted once the platform has been completed. Im going to plan the build for a 80kg with batteries. Only two factors i wont be able to change without re-planning everything is
1. Motor size and weight
2. Type of track design used.

From there on ill have to stuck to my guns and see what i end up with.
mayne do a mockup build with hardboard and then start adjusting the chassis structure from there.

This is exactly what i had in mind. This is not my video but it shows quite well how the setup works. Light weight, fast.

My only problem is getting those tracks.
As for the motors the units used are 500 watt motors with gearboxes.

Only motor i can get local are these.

But i can play around with the gearing easier and since the motors are mounted on the track it simplifies the build alot!

Thanks.
