Default Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanther build

I am looking to build a Tamiya 1/35 2 motor Jagdpanther kit.
I have one lined up to buy and will be looking for some help in building this kit.
First off This is the first time in 45 years building one.
The first time was a 1/25 kit I got when I was young 13 in 1975.
Well That kit is off the charts in price so I will build it in 1/35.
I want to make it as realistic as I can.
Looking for any info on what you all have done with this kit.
I want to RC control it and make a working suspension and medal tracks if that is best way to go?
I have built many RC boats from scratch and raced them.
Have also rebuilt a full size Hydrostream Vector from the shell out.
This is my new project as I am full time on the road in my trailer and need some thing to keep me busy for the winter in Palm Springs.
Please fell free to chime.
So lets get this puppy going....................

Check out 35 RC tank. They make gearboxes for the 1/35th scale kits, and I believe they also make metal tracks for same.

Mhh... Going to find the right material to use for Springs is going to be a *****... My E-100 uses 2x Springs per Axle for a total of 32...
I almost immediately struck gold with the right wire diameter in my first bulk order of Springs from AliExpress - 0.4mm acted like they were nonexistent as if they skipped leg day all day, 0.6mm was almost spot on (
), and 0.8mm was the polar opposite of 0.4 with like 4-6 of them alone being capable of lifting the entire 5.9kg Tank where 32 were planned for - Totally whack ( still a valuable experience to know about these Spring characteristics ).
As such I recommend the acquisition of a wide selection of whatever you plan to roll with ( springs / torsion bars / etc... ) 😉

I did not get the kit yet so not sure how it looks as far as suspension set up.
I am looking forward to setting it up to work as close as It can to the real thing.
Should have it in hand on Thursday.

OK I got me a $13 RC setup of Amazon.
It all will fit in side after I split the 4 battery holder to 2 two batter holders.
the 50+ year old motors did not work so I had to clean the old grease out of them.
Also had to get new plastic pinion gears for the motors.
I have two new motors on the way to make it track strait.
It runs at a good scale speed on 6 volts to the drivers.
As soon as I get the drive system all sorted out and the controller battery all set in place I will start on the top side .
Looks cool driving around........

OK I put the base coat on and masked off for the first color.
I am going for the "ambush" style.
I am going to get a muti size hole punch and make the different size round tap masking dots.
Will place them on the two dark colors and then paint over it with the light base color.
I have see real war picks of this but only on in color.
It is a very cool effect if done right.
Will throw it at the wall and give it a shot.

Do you airbrush? I have one coming and plan on just painting some accessories first before I start messing with tanks.

OK have the second color on and started the mask off for the base coat over spray.
I think this will work out killer.
