#1
Is there any difference in engine sound quality in both Tamiyas tanks. I know that 2A7 have have different DMD unit (gun stabilizer) but the question is about engine sound only.

Yes, the Tamiya 1/16 scale Leopard 2A6 and 2A7V models feature largely the same engine sounds.
Both models use Tamiya's advanced Multi-Function Units (DMD units) that digitally record the same real-life MTU MB873-Ka501 turbocharged diesel engine, which is utilized in both variants.

Key Sound Features:
- Engine Synchronization: The engine sound changes in pitch and volume to match the speed of the tank.
- Startup/Shutdown: Both models feature realistic startup, idling, and shutdown sounds.
- System Shared Component: The Tamiya Leopard 2A7V (Kit #56047) uses the T-12 DMD Unit, while the earlier 2A6 (Kit #56020) uses the T-07 DMD Unit. While the unit numbers differ due to upgraded electronics (such as supporting the 2A7V's specific lights), the core engine sound recordings are designed to represent the same powerplant.

We started a 2A7 next to a 2A6 and compared their functions. Sound wise they were identical both for engine note and all its features.
