Default Matotoys "processing"

I ordered two new smoke units from matotoys back on march 26th. When I check the status of that order on their website it says that the order is "processing", whatever the hell that means. I emailed matotoys a few days ago, so far all I have heard from them is the automated customer service email.

Is "processing" an evasism for "back ordered" ?

Evasism, I just created that word, It's mine, but feel free to use it.

You're welcome.

If I'm ever stumped either Wikipedia or the Merriam Webster online dictionary has always been able to come to my rescue. I'd say if you can't find it on one of those sites, you probably don't need to know about it.

Ok now I got the smoke unit. How do I hook it up ?

I stuck the black wire from the tank into the black side of the plug, and the red wire from the tank into the red side of the plug. But it doesn't run.

Ok, I did that. What else do I need to do to make it work?

That's all you should have to do. It simply plugs into the bottom of the large receiver board. Add smoke oil and go. If it doesn't work check to make sure that the switch is in the on position. If it still doesn't work you could try using jumper wires and a spare battery to test the unit, just make sure to connect the correct wires. Coloring seems to make no difference in these tanks, as my white wires were positive and the red wires were negative.
If you know how, you may want to use a voltmeter to test if you are getting current to the unit itself.

I tested the new units with a battery and they work. The old smoke motor would still run when I took it out of the tank, it just wouldn't smoke.

So between now and then something else has broken so that power will not even go to the smoke unit plug.

Thus ends my Hen Long experience, can't say it's been pleasant.

This tank will meet a violent end.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to continue trying to modify this tank into what I paid for.

Is there a way that I can just hook the smoke unit straight to the battery power in the tank ?

Yeah anything is possible. You could easily put a switch with jumpers over to the smoke unit. But then it would run all the time.

The other thing you could do is test the switch on the large board to make sure that it is letting power through it. I would do that before going through the trouble of making a whole seperate circuit for the smoke unit. I will admit though if HL had made thesmoke, motors, sound and other functions on seperate boards things would be easier for us to re-engineer and make better. f you need seomthing else let us know.

I fixed it.

Wired the smoke unit from the battery and put a switch under the commander's hatch. I also put the antena on the turret where it's supposed to be.

No different. The new units seem to smoke more but they're just as noisy. It's nice not having to open the battery compartment to turn the smoker off or on.

Shagnifico:

Do you have to worry about tangling the (antenna) wiring now that the antenna is mounted on the turret?

It's nowhere near a true 360 degree rotation anyway, is it?

Thanks,
-Harq

Well I don't worry about it anymore than any of the other wires that go to the turret.

The turret rotation is quite near 360 degrees. I would estimate 340.
